Hello all,
Look forward to learning and contributing.
My story is probably the same as most, won, lost, made money, lost money, found and paid for the greatest system ever and lost, built my own system and lost, built many more systems, learned won, learned, lost, had fun, got mad, spent, borrowed, started a company and made lots of money for other people, traded my own account and lost and now am back to my account, and with wisdom gained and lots of testing hoping to make a go of it again.
lets get to work,
MM
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Elvin,
I'm self employed, I have a good idea of how to turn money around. I get better returns on my capital than most of these fund managers do investing other people's money. I'm not saying I will do better now, but over time I will get there. Like politicians, its so easy spending other people's money, that's why there are huge piles of national debt.
Hello community! I'm glad to be a member here. I think there is a lot of good stuff here and hope to contribute in the near future. Thanks to Big Mike for this site!
I currently own a small trading firm focused on futures (energies, financials primarily, with some softs thrown in for fun). I have not been actively involved in the day-to-day activities until this year, but I'm bringing my technical expertise (in data and information systems) to help our team build better systems.
We use Tradestation, but personally I use Sierra Chart for charting and analysis. I love SC for the speed, though the learning curve was a little steep at first. I plan to learn the Sierra Chart language, as we have a number of systems we would like to completely automate. We have a custom, high-performance database we use for data mining, large scale modeling, and backtesting.
I manage a couple of Coverdale ESA's, for which I have just created a low maintenance system which is current going through forward testing.
I like things that are useful and I like to be useful.
At the moment i'm primarily an options trader who focuses on selling premium in both ETFs and individual equities, after doing a few recent trades in SPX and NDX however I really started to get annoyed in in the spreads and the hit or miss open interest on the strikes I wanted to trade. An acquaintance of mine trades strangles on the E Mini S&P so this naturally got me looking into it and as soon as I saw the tight spreads and huge open interest on /ES options I knew this was something I had to look into. I also do my trading on the side due to a full time career and busy family life, but considering I trade of daily charts it works pretty well for me.
So as for options I'm actually not that green...but as for futures trading i'm a complete newbie. Eager to learn though.
My name is Terry. I'm looking into trading futures. I tried practicing trading with demo account w/ Ninja Trader. I had little success and major failures. Futures, like FOREX which I tried also, can take your shirt off your back. I also read that futures can be traded in NADEX. It looks confusing, but many articles state that NADEX is safer. So that I don't lose my clothes, food, and housing, I found this blogsite while Googling questions about trading futures. I'm looking forward in learning more so I can be empowered.
Hi all.
I'm new here. I am foreman for a road construction company.
I traded commodities for a couple yrs, bout 15 yrs back. Haven't done it since. No I didn't get hurt but after a couple yrs I was only up a hundred, so figured it wasn't worth my time. Yea I had some big up an downs in there. Anyway decided maybe to do it again. So basically I committed myself to paper Tradeing until I'm satisfied it's worth my time. Cept for I did short OJ back in December. That is kinda what got me back to paper Tradeing. It worked very well for me. Which is actually what scared me to paper. I know it sounds weird. However I went through that before, first three weeks my account had 4X. Then for couple yrs I had ups an downs an ended up breaking even an realizing I paid my broker 2X the value of my account.
To sum it up I am here to learn an hopefully help others learn as much as I can also.
Hi everyone! I'm new to futures after trading Forex via FXCM for a couple years. Unfortunately, or possibly fortunately, I'm being forced to a new broker in the US and have since decided to pursue futures and step away from Forex. Looking forward to getting into it and learning more!
My name is Hank Dean... and as goofy as it sounds I go by the handle BarefootHank because I run barefoot and am in the process of developing a cutting edge CRM/emersive Training & Coaching platform for the Network Marketing industry that is called Barefoot Franchise.
I began trading index futures in the bubble of 1999 using Ensign/DTN with a broker from PFG... good guy, crap company.
I bled out about $30k over 1.5 years doing the usual "indicator song and dance", jumped back in between 2011 and 2013 switching to NinjaTrader with a new arsenal of ADR, Pivot, VA knowledge and actually broke even as scared money...
I'm a student and big fan of PivotBoss and others that really wrap their heads around the auction process.
February 22, 2017. I'm baaaaack.
This time I'm in it to win it, with a more mature, conservative outlook, small minimal profits in ONLY easy to see, obvious moves.
The goal is to turn the $1000 in my account into $300k by June 1 by averaging $75/car per day and growing by an average of 1 car every $500. Dilusional? Maybe. Maybe not.
This morning I took $35 over two trades on the TF. Yes, trading the Russell and anticipating July 1 move to the CME and possibly a lot more liquidity.
While I can't predict the market direction, I do know with certainty, that I will be one day closer to a futures date by tomorrow. That is the one "trick" I rely on and it seems to work well.
(doing the exact opposite of any experts predictions on CNBC would probably also work)
