Hello, my name is Brett just started recently trading futures. Practiced for about a month with the think or swim software.
Opened up a new e-trade futures account and looking to better my trading strategies.
First week I was up $895. Then didn’t really set my stops correctly and then lost $1400. I’ve had a successful week afterwards. I traded for 3 days and made $1500 then lost another $400.00
So looking to cut the losses down a little more. Where I seem to have a problem is with stops and comfortable with dropping 1 to 3 points.
I am Rick. I have been a long time observer but I'm posting for the very first time today. I have been trading stocks from the Nasdaq for the past 20 years without ever getting better returns than the S&P 500. Over the past 3-4 years, the idea of beach life while having a workhorse algorithm making money via automated trading piques my imagination.
As a professional software engineer working in a very complex satellite/space industry, I thought the idea of coming up with a winning trading system is within my reach using sound engineering process. Over the years, I realized that this quest is a lot harder than I originally thought. But through perseverance, hard work a heavy dose of stubbornness. I believe that I have a trading system that is tradable. I have completed most of the work end of 2018. 2019 is essencially Forward Testing.
I am posting here, the Ninja Trader Statistics overview. Please feel to critique and destroy. I would rather get hammered in this wonderful forum than having my bank account depleted. I can also provide more detail and break down of the data.
So here are the results showing Day trading of a single ( 1 ) NQ contract between July 2015 and December 2019.
Hello fellow traders. This sounds like a great place to learn and share experiences with like minded people. I am just getting back into trading after about a ten year hiatus. Lost a lot of money and wasted a lot of time chasing too many ways to trade. I am older and I think wiser now and should have the discipline to trade properly. I came to your sight looking for the Weiss Wave indicator because it makes sense to me with the way I want to trade. I am using and learning Ninjatrader 8 and am mostly daytrading e minis and trying to learn Forex. Thanks for welcoming me aboard.
I'm new to trading. But it's the only career choice that makes sense for me.
Played around with forex and stocks in the past with a very small amount of money. Never blew out an account, yet, and am scavenging through available resources to perhaps keep it this way.
After seeing what this forum has to offer, I went ahead and purchased the elite membership.
My name is Kim and I live in a suburb of Vancouver, Canada. I used to own a couple of sporting goods businesses but have been semi-retired now for awhile. A friend of mine got me into trading as a new challenge to take on and what a challenge it has turned into.
I have been trading on and off now for years without any real success. I have tried many different approaches but had a hard time sticking to one for any real length of time. I have decided that the only way to hope to achieve some modicum of consistency and success is to become truly accountable for every trade I take. With that in mind, I intend to post my trades on this forum. I hope I can figure out how to do that as I am not the most computer literate person.
I trade CL exclusively. I look forward to learning lots and maybe meeting some people with similar interests.
Hello everyone, my name is Chris, Ive lived in San Diego since 2011 after getting out of the military. I’m originally from Texas born and raised. I feel this group is great as I’m still learning the insides of futures . I basically taught myself the ins and outs in the stock market, and as I’ve become quite impressed with my ability in the crypto sector as well as trading stocks. Learning how options work took the longest due to High Risk, so much can be gained with the right people so i have an awesome team I’m partnered with. Futures on the other hand has not been so much of the focus and although I’ve invested in futures, i had help in those moments but I’m ready to look further in futures and get a better understanding. Thank you for allowing me the time to introduce myself.
