I will try to Keep a journal here alive. Will write more here about my trading style as time goes by.
One of my weaknesses of the past that I was to lazy to run a daily journal. So I know my results for the last years, but difficult to develop further while impossible to post-analyze the trades afterwards
So just give notice about my first journal trade:
Went SPX long this morning (german time) at 1632 and a stop at 1625.
Let me introduce my style of trading a bit. I am considering myself a swingtrader, so I normally try to hold my postions several days.
My strength is an quite advanced knowledge about cycles and waves. For this part I do not all the research by myself. I am also an subscriber of good sources which I am knowing now for years and I am confident, that this is an important part of my edge.
In addition I am studying the ichimoku system and price action. I have begun my studies of those edge elements just since the beginning of 2013. So I am still regarding me as a learner of those elements. At the moment I am practising with the advanced ichimoku course and the advanced price action course of Chris Capre.
I make my preselections of entering a position mainly with cycles and waves. I am using Ichimoku more as a kind of confirmation System at the moment. For the price action elements I am still looking into my future way of intrigrating them into my trading style.
My reasons: From my cycle knowledge I am expecting an SPX bottom between Aug 26 to Aug 30. From my wave knowledge, I was regarding the area as an potential bottom as well. We are above the daily SPX Kumo and were just testing the weekly Kijun and the 20 week EMA. I am a big fan of using the weekly Ichimoku Chart for the big picture.
Well, wild swings again yesterday. The Upthrust was coming, but not tradeable (according to my style). After the wild swings no convicing price action was following. Cycles still looking constructive, but wave structure pointing to a realistic test of the 1600 area. Ichimoku kumo 1H stopped the bulls. Above the 1H Kumo the indizes are facing another thick resistance area from the 4H Kumo.
Altogether: Stepping aside for the moment. Wait and see.
