CQG's Q Trader, offered at $40/mth plus 25 cents a side/trade, if you can use the data from that to power Ninja, that would be a cheap setup, any comparative costs for setups. Q Trader is reasonably robust front end, usually use TT, I find CQG IC a little flakey when it gets busy. Any thoughts or alternatives
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
NinjaTrader through our CQG or Continuum adapters use the same underlying data that QTrader uses. There is no need to pay for QTrader to access the same data.
Cleared Marrex Europe could not connect Ninja to TT or CGQ and the adapter you are talking about, meant that I needed to pay£1500 for the servers etc, bascically any time I tried to get Ninja on to my data that I was already paying for TT and CQG it was nt happening, so I had to pay for DTN(televent) just so I could view Gomi ladder. To be honest fed up with all the massive costs starting every month and the CQG Q trader $40 with Ninja. is a breath of fresh air.
AMP Futures seems like they offer the connectivity you are talking about Marrex Europe not. X Trader with Xstudy is the best on offer, but do not have the flexibility that Ninja offer which I desire
Also as a long termer who has paid approx £2500+/mth (for TT, CQG, news feeds). Now with a chart with CQG functionality and a decent DOM=Q Trader, think this is the way forward at that price. Wondered if there was anything else similar out there in comparison in price and standard
I think CQG Q trader may be the best value right now for retail traders period. If you can work with only one chart at a time, then this is your platform of choice.
Exactly but with Ninja charts and all its funky add ons receiving the data for free from CQG, you will be able to have three four pages of charts, plus your CQG page, which with the tool bar customization makes it easy to flip multiple chart pages. Awesome love CQG but it is expensive, or was.
Notice that traders on futures.io (formerly BMT) seem to use SierraCharts, wondered what alternatives or comparisons there are.
To be fair I would't say CQG or Ninja are retail products, like using spread betting company's front end and charts are for example.
Was looking for insight into alternatives and cost
I am testing platforms at the moment to hopefully settle for one. Does Q Trader have market profile charts and/ or is it able to plot volume against price (ideally with customisable time periods) and show value area POC and Highs/ Lows?
In addition, I would like to know, whether OCO/ bracket orders placed in Q Trader are held server side or are they held on the client locally?
And finally, is it possible to do range and/ or renko charts with Q Trader?
And if so, do any of these things cost extra?
Any help with these questions would be much appreciated.
