Im researching the step from Forex to Futures but in the meantime I saw that my broker ICmarkets offers some Futures on MT5 with depth of market, dont ask me what kind of data feed, they told me they receive that from their liquidity providers. I figured I can start practicing some while I'll do my research. So my question is are there any decent Order flow indicators for MT5 available yet and in particular footprint charts
cheers,
Giacomo

The same is true for futures trading offered by better MT4 brokers. I, too, would be interested to learn how clearing for these instruments works for a Forex broker in comparison to a real futures broker. The FX brokers naturally don't say a lot.
Maybe @mattz, could you say something about this? The following screenshot is from my MT4 platform. Thank you.
@MT4Survivor I believe that the "Futures" that are offered by Forex brokers are not tied up to the exchanges rather to their own liquidity providers who try to imitate the exchange-traded markets. This reflected where they say "Futures CFDs", Commodity CFDs, etc.
Thanks,

Futures are one of the most popular form of CFDs. IC Markets offer a range of Futures from around the world, including ICE Dollar Index and CBOE VIX Index. Online Futures based CFDs are offered exclusively on IC Markets' MetaTrader 4 Platform.
CFD futures are priced directly from the underlying futures markets, with commissions, financing charges and dividend adjustments all built into the spread itself. IC Markets offers competitive spreads across all of our Future CFDs.
The following table shows our selection of global Futures CFDs.
If your FX provider has an FX Pair or CFD that is highly liquid then I guess you can use a Footprint that would reflect their liquidity. I am not sure how they aggregate their data from their LPs.
MT5 does offer exchange-traded Futures and I believe now integrates with MT5.
Thanks,

I think they would say to try it, and see if it works for you. Most professionals would.

@mattz Thanks for your help. I'll just stick to real futures data with a serious platform and data. If I'll try it, it means I'll have to spend a few hundred dollars for some MT5 indicators and risk that the data isnt sufficient. I'll probably move to a different platform in the near future anyway.
I think that if you require data that would be more reliable from the exchanges than you are making the right choice.
Then you just have to choose an interface that displays the data in a way that would make it convenient to identify.
Thank you,
Matt Zimberg

I am using an indicator I bought from the metatrader 5 website. It runs pretty well. It does range bars, tick charts, orderflow, volume imbalance footprint, volume profile.
I was able to duplicate the data on my own metatrader 5 robot program. It serves as my visual proof that my program is calculating the orderflow correctly.
Unlike other indicators, it is not API-enabled. It is not callable inside your own metatrader program.
