I can only explain such behaviour as result as any news but I didn't find anything that could create the pop. Would anyone more experienced than myself explain it?

You'll get a bunch of different answers. Low supply below 2700. Most active price in the past 3 months is 2730. When price dipped below that and supply was dry (no volume), the path of least resistance was back up. It's like a slingshot. I used the same line of thinking for a long in Russell Futures. I was actually long overnight 1524 on increasing volume at yesterdays highs. When price dipped I didn't dump it because of what I just described. I felt confident my trade was still in play even though I took 10 handles of heat. Not the best trade but a positive trade is still money in the bank.
