hi
i am going to buy liftime
which one better ninja 8 or MultiCharts ?
i am not programmer and i do not know any thing about it
i will use it from volume profile only on us stocks and options chart and some forex,i was going to buy quantower but after testing it i found the software its not ready .
what i need it is on sierrachart but no options trading and i am tradstions user i ll use the free tick data
I think you should spend some time familiarizing yourself with the tools your broker already has. Charting software really won't improve your options performance as much as understanding the basics of options and how they behave.
If you're looking for a more comprehensive options platform and want some best-in-class maybe look to OptionVue or OptionsNet Explorer (just a thought).
I also see you have a number of posts on the site about products and vendors. Maybe consider spending more time working on finding your edge and working on trader psychology. This site is a treasure trove of information for those with the right attitude about futures and markets.
On this forum, the Gomi profile indicator package is the nicest I've ever seen. @gomi is very highly respected and a participating member here for over a decade.
If that set of indicators is available for NT8. Consider that. If Interactive Brokers is available to you I founf that integration to be almost seamless.
I think a good first step would be to download trial versions of all three:
Both versions of Multicharts (.NET and PowerLanguage) can be downloaded and run for free for 30 days. They can run at the same time, on the same machine, so you can try both. A lot of the windows will look familiar to you, as they're very similar to TradeStation's.
NinjaTrader 8 is also available to download and use for free, but only for charting and SIM trading (a paid licence is needed for live trading). I'm unsure if the free version's SIM mode will support trading options, but you probably can ask for a temporary activation to try it out before you buy a full licence.
Now, since you say your trading is based on Volume Profile:
Both versions of Multicharts have a good built-in profiler that will generate most of the major lines produced by the Sierra study you mention.
In NinjaTrader 8, the built-in Volume Profile indicator is rather basic, so I recommend you download the DValueArea add-on instead. It's available for free on the NinjaTrader Ecosystem website.
From a programming point of view, NinjaTrader 8 would be a more appropriate choice even if you are not a programmer as you say. This will become evident when you start shopping for an indicator that does exactly what the VVAL study does in Sierra Chart. In that case, I think you'd be more likely to find vendors or programmers for Ninja.
If choosing between the Multicharts versions, in my opinion the .NET version is more programmable than the PowerLanguage version. However, the advantage with the PL version is that you probably CAN find several commercial profilers already available, based on those made for TradeStation's older versions of EasyLanguage.
Salam bro
Thanks for the respond.
I might buy quantower.com lifetime but I am not sure how long survive.the good about the have option chain I use option with volume value area as well.but sierrachart they do not and multichart too.
