Is anyone using SierraCharts Trading DOM to trade? I'd like to hear what people think of it.

It's cool and simple and functional.

You can put orders in from the right-hand side of the screen in a buy or sell box on each side of the price.

You can put in resting stop orders and adjust your target and stop loss BEFORE being filled without the resting stop entry order being hit.

I like it better than Ninja.

Cancel replace and reverse etc...are all easily done.

I like adjusting my cursor to the instrument 'tick size' as well so my cursor goes tick by tick up or down; as well as my stop loss and limit profit orders and actual entry order line.

You can customize the colors and thickness, etc...

Sierra Charts are great.

Do you have to pay any kind of fee to Trading Technologies for using a static DOM?

Hi, I am not sure I understand your question.

I have used OpenEcry and Velocity for the 'brokerage' part of trading with Sierra Charts.

I use the trading dom on the chart in Sierra and the data is filled through those brokers.

Never used TT.

TT has patents on the static DOM. If you use a static DOM in Ninjatrader you either purchase credits from TT to use the static DOM or your broker adds it to your commissions. Some other providers use the TT interface (I think that's what @BigMike is doing) and the broker adds the fee to the commission. I'll check with my broker, Advantage Futures, to see if they charge it to me if I use SierraCharts to trade.

i have to say, SC is really growing on me. the learning curve gets to me, and i get frustrated. but for the price it's justifiable. i'm just not looking to rollover time when i have to reprogram all the charts and T&S with the new symbols

You don't have to reprogram them. Just link them and change them in one place.

If you trade with Velocity and SC you are trading thru TT FIX adapter.
