20110525 Day one of this trading journal. Ttading day start 0530 end 1330 cst.
Markets: Crude (CL), Russell (TF) Euro Futures (6B), Forex: E/u, G/U, and G/J
Chart Packages: Ninja Trader 6.5 and 7; Genesis Trade Navigator Gold
Equipment: run Win XP, SP3, Win 7, SP1, Mac OSi, Snow Leopard with Parallels virtual machines on board
Trading Style: use the cci almost exclusively, with primary focus on woodie's cci system. Use the cci data stream via range bars to indicate short term momentum and renko style data bars for determining trend and trend reversal.
Mindset - refers to how calm or agitated my mind is during a trading event. Usually I use a neurobiomimetic systemn to help keep my neural frequency between 12 and 17 cycles. The lower range being the upper end of alpha sleep and 17 being the center of the creative "ah ha" range. Actually acquired my system from NuCalm NuCalm in the 'About" section is a complete write-up if interested. On that trading day, had turned off the soundtrack and CES stimulation. Had is on during the morning when in sim mode, and off in the afternoon, when made mistakes. I tend to get anxious and take trades that do not meet all my criteria.
20110525: Traded live and in sim.
Live: MAE (maximum adverse exposure) 24t MFE (max favorable exposure) 77t: EOD (end of day) 3t
Sim: MFE: 127t; EOD - 94t
Summary: 8 live total trades today, 2 mindset mistakes. Went live on first trade of the day when though it was in sim, cost 24t. Recovered and got up by 77. Took trade that did not meet 2 trade criteria for entering existing trend:
(a) cci entry bar must be closed above 100L, (b) LSMA must comply with direction of trade. Results - 56t loss.
20110526: 3 live trades, 3 stop outs, -52t
Sim: 5 trades. +84t ..... All 8 trades complied with my criteria, would take them again. btdtr....
20110527: Market lacked volume, traded sim all day +157 T, also live tested 2 small lot trades and new ATM strategies. net live: -1 T.
...tbc

nanook77 - what do you mean by mindset mistake and can you elaborate on the strategy you use in your trading. you mention a couple of criterion but I don't think we have the full context to understand what your talking about. Anxious to hear more about your style of trading. Thx!
