I'm a recent economics graduate whose been passionately inquisitive about financial markets for the past 6 years. Now that I have an open space of time, I'm using my energy to develop my self as a trader, focusing on the YM using the tools price action, order flow and technicals accompanied by a wide fluid contextual dynamic analytical approach.
I want to develop myself as a trader, I'm not looking for the easy way or shortcuts -- I'm looking to be hard working, knowledgable and skillful.
These tools are generic and wide words, so I'll detail my own meaning here:
Price action
Rhythm, speed, volatility and easiness by which price moves.
Order flow
Rhythm, speed, aggressiveness and energy of orders and their ability to move price.
Technicals
Round numbers, support and resistance, highs/lows, HHHL and LLLH, moving averages, fibonacci retracements, volume.
Areas which I want to improve and learn more and add to my trading arsenal
Volume Profile
Advanced order flow analytics
Financial risk taking mindset
Global macro analysis
Excel skill development
Mathematics skill development
Market sentiment [COT report]

As of now, I am developing my trading plan through trial and error and practice, before giving myself a combine/simulated trial. Upon passing, I will either do the combine officially on TopStepTrader or go live with my own money with 1 contract.
Wish list for trading -
Platform: NinjaTrader license
Feed: Kinetick with all data
Additionals: JigSaw, futures.io (formerly BMT) elite membership, Gomi Tools
Money: $500 for margin requirements and additional $500 maximum drawdown for when I'm ready to go live after passing simulation tests or $300 for 2 months combine on TopStepTrader
I'm here on futures.io (formerly BMT) to develop myself as a trader, learn from successful traders and to be involved in a community of people with similar interests.
All the best,
See you around,
TurismoTek.
[One last thing: I believe in a positivity based trading approach. Confidence and positivity imo are very important to trading success and ability to make good decisions and trust your own abilities, therefore I will avoid/ignore anybody who is moaning, making excuses or negative!]
Hello, been trading for just over four years now. Started with options, blew up that account after a successful run up in silver in 2010. Switched over to forex after reading John carter's book "Mastering the trade", and that took me to the next level. Got into trading daily and intraday charts, but really found my niche on the weekly and monthly charts. Love setting limit orders and only checking those charts once a day. But have really come to love day trading the YM on the 5 and 15 minute timeframes. Been day trading full time for 3 months now, and still struggling with execution, but I bounce between making money and break even so I know I'm on the right track. Looking forward to learning from others experience! Take care.
I have been trading for over 10 yrs, mostly loosing money. However, since about 3 months ago, I seem to have turned the corner and trading profitably (mostly futures, TF, EMD, and ES). My question is about VWAP indicator. Is this available as a .zip file for Ninja
It's sitting on my desk as I write this! Also used as a great reference.
I have pieced together a great system using his methods combined with some ideas of my own, and I couldn't be happier with it. A must read for every trader, especially those just starting out. Perfect balance of psychology, trade ideas, and how to operate trading as a business.
I wouldn't have even considered the YM until John pointed out the wider stops you can use compared to the ES. Flows with my strategy perfectly, couldn't be happier. For now
