I’m still experiencing losses because the same methods no longer work as expected. I’ve realized I need to be more flexible than I initially thought. Momentum isn’t always momentum—aggressive entries are only valid during risk events or when there’s clear aggressive behavior, like someone actively crossing the spread.

The challenge is defining what real aggression looks like. During normal market activity, price can trend without much momentum. In those cases, the best entries might come from absorption. However, I misunderstood absorption: I was often entering on absorption signals, but in many cases, I should have been entering in the opposite direction.

Absorption alone isn’t a reliable signal. I need to define the context in which it matters—specifically, whether it happens in a balance zone or an imbalance zone. This distinction is important for my framework, where I avoid trading in balance and only look to trade during imbalance.

I also need to better understand the difference between absorption in a normal trending move versus absorption during an imbalance move. For example, if price shows a strong imbalance and the next tick shows absorption, does that suggest a reversal, a continuation, or simply a reason to be cautious?

Moving forward, I need to focus on a limited number of assets and monitor them in greater detail.

Was out of market for several days due to health condition. Now will gather context and catchup with latest market behavior and news.
