Look forward to your journal. That's the best way to learn/share and find like minded traders.
Good Luck.
My posts are not meant to give financial advice neither do they imply that my method is special. "THIS IS WHAT I COULD BE IF I HAD A TOTALLY CARE FREE STATE OF MIND DURING TRADING" Mark Douglas.

Futures trader looking to share ideas here on price action based intraday trading and get some guidance from the experienced. My inspirations are: Al Brooks, Adam Grimes, Bob Volman, with some Raschke thrown in. I am very anti-indicator, to an extreme, with the exception of moving averages for reference. No depth of market, no volume spread analysis, just price.
I like to trade ES/YM/NQ and CL.
I love forums where there's no insanity like on ET
I need to take my four figure account to a million dollars in three months. I have some serious bills to pay. Alright, just kidding about that one
Hello everyone! This is my first time ever being associated with a forum. I have very little, no lets be honest, I have no experience in trading, but I am extremely eager to learn. Over the past 4 years, whenever I can find the time, I enjoy sitting at the computer, reading all the different methodologies surrounding trading. It is very fascinating! My job keeps me very busy and I travel a lot, so in reality I am not even sure that trading is the right fit for me right now. What I do know is that I am very interested in learning. I also know for a fact that I would really like to own my own trading business and be my own boss! For some reason LIFE is not allowing that to happen.
I am confident that I am going to enjoy reading the post from true traders, who probably learned hard lessons along your journeys. I do not know how much I will be able to contribute, in the beginning, as I am so new to the community. But, I look forward to the day that I can. I am looking forward to meeting the passionate subscribers to this forum. Take Care and Great Trading.
Hi there! I'm glad a came upon this forum. I am a newbie trader. I dicovered trading while doing 2 years in a federal camp for the charge of cultivating cannabis. I took a fundementals class from a man who was doing a 30 year bid for securities fraud. I've researched his story since my release and it is interesting but I'm not sure if it would be appropriate to mention his name. I then took 2 technical classes from a fellow who was doing 4 yrs for mortgage fraud. The camp I was in also had a RSP simulator with a few years of historical data. It offered ES, NQ, and EURO/USD data. I also read about 20 books by authors like Kathy Lien, Michael Archer, Michael Gutman, Jack Swaeger, and more! While in prison i found that there was a huge divide between the tape readers and the techs. I want to learn it all! I opened a small account with ATC and have been unsuccessful thus far. I have broken rules I had set for myself and cosequently suffered the consequences. I have also let good setups pass me by and not reacted to them. This is much more diffulcult than I tought it would be. I've blown about 12% of my account. I have been sitting on the sidelines and watching the NQ and the ES since my initial failures and learning how to interrpret the DOM. My losses have not dettured me and I will prevail! (I hope) AM I rambling? ANyway I will save the particulars for the forums. See you there!
Hi everyone, I'm newish to trading, new to futures trading. I've been on NT7 sim trading for 6 weeks now and following the futures market longer. I don't have a broker yet. Like every new trader I don't know enough...but at least I know it. I have a couple (literally 2) set-ups that I'm going to try to get nailed down first. I know damn near all new traders fail/quit, and like a beginner I know that "I'm different"! I have been reading up on why most traders fail and the simplest thing stuck me, everywhere I read people were saying "You MUST have a trading plan!". I didn't even know what that was. After reading a lot of advice and rules for new traders on futures.io (formerly BMT), I do feel more prepared but will still be irritating many with questions.
WARNING: I was going to use Global Futures but they tried to pass off $2.50 as the all-in rt for es, when I called back and asked how this was possible, well, it's not. Ended up at about $5.80. I say "about" because the rep would not send me anything in writing/email because his calls are recorded, I have no idea how that makes sense.
Looking for a broker is a pain for the uninitiated. I'm leaning toward ninjatrader brokerage now, I like the broker/platform combo, easier for beginners to understand and decent commission and $15/month data feed. Wish me patience and a bit of luck!
After many years fooling around on Scottrade while my wife and I raised a family and I pursued a "regular" career, I am approaching "retirement"....the kids are grown and gone, I am healthy and can finally move closer to what I've always wanted to do....trade. I've been trading forex spot live with Oanda on MT4 for awhile and that has worked well. Time to move forward. I am building a trading computer now and will migrate to forex (and other) futures, probably on Tradestation. My final retirement (freedom after 39 years), the new machine and Tradestation should all intersect Q2 2015. I'll be geared-up and motivated!
I appreciate the many resources on Big Mike Trading....very helpful as I move along.
I did join the futures.io (formerly BMT) forum for about a month now, and I live in the Ottawa region (Gatineau). I am currently trying to digest Context with Market Profile and I try to make it public too (I did start a thread in the Trading Journal forum). On my side, even with a nice trading plan written and logging charts every day it was difficult, sometimes it worked and other time it did not ... So I am trying to get an edge on understanding Context which might explain why my trading plan is working 1/2 the time ...
Hi, I am a begginer and recently went through the broker search. I ended up with ATC brokers. Michael Duane Archer named them as his favorite in his book "Getting started in Currency Trading".(which is an affordable great read) I am not trading currencies though, as I am trading futures (ES,NQ). I contacted him via email and his endorsement held. THey are an IB to OEC. I also contacted OEC and they seemed transparent and proffesional. Ultimately in the end i went with ATC as Robert (sales rep), was extremely helpful and I have read that IB's provide more customer support. Being a rookie I need all of the support I can get! round turn all in trade for me is $4.83 + $5/ month for CME data feed. (this is for the DOM.) If you don't plan to use DOM the data fee is only $1/ month. I like the ATC trader platform although it is a white label version of OEC trader. The DOM is sweet....
I have been reading about the Ninja brokerage and am intrigued as I know Ninja is the most popular platform. Also check in to Cannon Trading as I like their site and have heard good things about them on this forum. And check into OEC. Best to shop around! Also if you haven't already, check out Jigsaw trading. I find that guy and his plug ins to be very interesting. THere are some threads on this forum regarding him. i believe his name is Peter Davies. Jigsaw seems to endorse Ninja Brokerage also.
Good Luck! and good hunting!
