Mike,

Thanks for sending this out in the email the other day. I forgot how useful this indicator is.
I applied it in the past with the treasuries and then shelved it. At the time I was using more "Stuff" as my trading has moved along, simplification has been my goal.

I'm posting this video of the ES open and cycling through a few charts and how I'm running it.
I'm also using a DR indicator from the Ma7er on Twitter and Youtube @TheMas7er . It's pretty good at statistical direction for the day. For those interested, @28_trader created the indicator and is free from his twitter account.

The Dots are the swing lows generated by the Divergence Analyst indicator. That is from Tradetheplan dot com.

I good alternative is the TSI indcator 14/2 settings. That's what this divergence indicator is based off of. It performs better than the bollinger %b but still gives bad advice on price runs.

I've the DR indicator, but to understand you'll need to go to the YouTube channel.

@mk77ch and anyone that might be able to help.

For the Footprint v2 indicator kindly given by mk77ch.

For the Profile Current Session how can I have the VAH, VAL and POC accessible in indicator settings to change the colour and opacity for the lines that extend across the chart. ?

Or help with which lines of the script refer to them.

There are colour and opacity settings already available but they only change the volume profile itself and the POC VAH and VAL that's on the volume profile but not as they extend across the chart.

I've looked through the excellent code but it's above my pay grade.

Many thanks

Hi everyone!

If I load the FoorPrintV2 indicator onto a chart and scroll to the beginning of the chart, I get the following error in the Output window:

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: 'barsAgo' needed to be between 0 and 5036 but was -1
Parameter name: barIndex
at NinjaTrader.NinjaScript.Series`1.IsValidDataPointAt(Int32 barIndex)
at NinjaTrader.NinjaScript.Indicators.Infinity.FootPrintV2.drawMap(ChartControl chartControl, ChartScale chartScale)

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Much appreciated.

@mk77ch

I managed to figure this out.
I've added in indicator settings line opacity for extended POC VAH and VAL.

If it helps I added this in OnStateChange:

Code
vahOpa = 0.9f;///added for VAH line opacity
valOpa = 0.9f;///added for VAL line opacity
pocOpa = 0.9f;///added for POc line opacity

Then I replaced these three lines of code in region Value Area:

Code
///askBrush.Opacity = 0.9f;
askBrush.Opacity = vahOpa;///added for VAH line opacity in indicator settings

Code
///pocBrush.Opacity = 0.9f;
pocBrush.Opacity = pocOpa;///added for POC line opacity in indicator settings

Code
///bidBrush.Opacity = 0.9f;
bidBrush.Opacity = valOpa;///added for VAL line opacity in indicator settings

and finally I added this in Properties :

Code
[NinjaScriptProperty]
[Range(0.1f, 1.0f)]
[Display(Name = "VAH Line", GroupName = "Max Opacity", Order = 1)]
public float vahOpa
{ get; set; }

[NinjaScriptProperty]
[Range(0.1f, 1.0f)]
[Display(Name = "VAL Line", GroupName = "Max Opacity", Order = 2)]
public float valOpa
{ get; set; }

[NinjaScriptProperty]
[Range(0.1f, 1.0f)]
[Display(Name = "POC Line", GroupName = "Max Opacity", Order = 3)]
public float pocOpa
{ get; set; }

I would like to give a little bit of insight in how i use this indicator and to share a few things i learned along my way.
This is most interesting for people who are still jumping around trying every new tool they find in the hope that it will compensate for their lack of trading skills and open the door to unlimited wealth

All the best,
Mike

First off thank you this! I have truly enjoyed your work and reading all the pages off comments and questions. I do have a question, the text on the footprint is really small even after playing with the X and Y axis it seems small. When I do get them text to an appropriate size for reading ill maybe have like 3 or 4 candles on the chart due to size. do you happen to know how I could change something to make this better or maybe even reduce the dark grey box on the footprint that seems to take up a lot of room?

again Awesome Job
